Skyline Drive was about as curvey as the Southern part of the Parkway. A couple of patrols shaking fingers at us kept our speed down. The speed limit was even lower than the Parkway. 35 or 40 mph.

We stay in Front Royal and decide not to press on to DC. and opt for returning home a day early. DC would have been a great visit, but the Anthrax problems were in full swing and we didn't think we could get close to the Mall with fully loaded saddle bags. We make very good time heading home and log an 850 mile day back to St. Louis. Kurt climbs off the R6 in pain and claims that he never wants to ride that many miles in a day again. We'll have to see if that holds up...
